Report: Moldova not to reject Gazprom’s gas, wants good price
CHISINAU, Oct 3 (PRIME) -- Moldova has not rejected the idea of buying natural gas from Russian gas giant Gazprom, but Chisinau wants a good price, Moldovan Energy Minister Victor Parlicov said in an interview to news portal Newsmaker published on Tuesday.
On Monday, he said that Moldova would no longer buy gas from Gazprom because Chisinau bought the fuel in Europe at a lower price.
“As of today, we have not completely rejected the idea that we would never buy gas from Gazprom for the right bank (of the Dniester River). But we have a choice now, and if we are offered a good price and if the price is not connected to political conditions and political risks in regards to the E.U., then it is possible,” Parlicov said.
Moldova has not bought gas outside the European market for now, but it could do so in the future.
“We don’t rule out that we will buy tankers and carry gas to an LPG terminal and pump it to Moldova,” he said.
